Use Your Feet and Run!

4/15/2018

The national controversy for this week seems to be all about individual privacy.  Congress has called Facebook to task for sharing our private information.  How does that work?  We post private information for all the world to see, and congress wants to protect us?  We rant and rave with our own public opinion, Facebook shares it and suddenly it’s private?  Indeed, we are living in a strange time.  Oh, by the way, if you have Alexa or Google Home, your questions are forwarded to a national data bank.  Be careful what you ask.

In this technologically advanced world, everything we do can sometimes be videoed.  Everything we say is often recorded.  We think we are so smart.  Well, guess what?  God knows everything we do and say.  2nd Corinthians 5:10 tells us, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.”  When your Mom told you that, “God is watching,” she was right on!

The next time temptation knocks at your door, ask yourself if you really want to face our God Who knows that you answered the door to sin.  If the knock is loud and you feel you can’t ignore it, God will give you a way out.  You can find it in 1st Corinthians 10:13.  “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind.  And God is faithful.  He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

Here’s my thought on the best way out of temptation.  Use your feet and RUN!!

Love to all,
