Things I lament.

• Not understanding Ecclesiastes 12:13 (NIV) early in life.  “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”  If you’re looking for purpose in your life, look no further;

 

• Mom always told me, she loved me.  My Dad grew up in a home that wasn’t so expressive.  Not until I said to him, “I love you” did he reply with “I love you too.”  That conversation was at age 55 for me.  Don’t wait to tell your loved ones, “I love you.”  Wait until tomorrow and they might not be here;

 

• Not realizing that everyone touching my life is important in my life.  Too many friends have turned away because I didn’t make an investment in our friendship.  Maybe that comes under the heading, “Too soon old, too late smart.”

 

• Realizing sooner in life that if God had just paid me in rainbows and sunsets, it would have been enough.  Watch all the sunsets you possibly can, sunrises if you’re an early riser.  God paints a different picture in the sky with every sunrise and every sunset.

 

• As I’ve grown older, I can’t see the Milky Way anymore.

 
Maybe, had I spent more time with God in my youth, there would be less laments in my old age.  Live every day to the glory of God.
