Snow Globe Moments

Reflections from the Heart of Allan Redenius
 
The other morning, I looked out the window and into my back yard.  There were four little fawns running, jumping, and seemingly playing tag with each other.  It’s one of those events I call a “snow globe moment.”  You know, inside a snow globe, life is so seemingly perfect and frozen in time.
 
Here are a few of my “snow globe moments:”
 

• Thinking back on those Christmases from long ago when Santa Claus and Rudolph were so very real;
• Watching my bride walk down the aisle on our wedding day;
• Hearing the borning cry of my son and first grandson;
• Trying to decide if I should be in the delivery room when Armona was in labor with Lisa.  The doctor threw a pair of green operating pants/shirt at me and said, “Follow me.”  I’ve never regretted taking that advice;
• Baptizing my grandson Noah;
• Being with my disabled friend in Branson and asking him if he wanted popcorn or ice cream.  Popcorn was the vote.  Then I realized I needed to put each kernel on his tongue.  

 
I have so many more “snow globe moments.”  But the only moments that will live on forever are those times I have been able to witness for Jesus.
 
One life will soon be past.  Only what’s been done for Christ will last.  Now, there’s advice to live by…..
