A long time ago we were boating with some friends. Driving along the lakeshore “oohing and awing” at the spectacular homes, here’s how part of our conversation went.
“I’ll take that one.”
“You can’t have it.”
“You can’t afford it!”
With every beautiful home we boated by, that was the conversation. I know, you’ve had the same conversation.
Up ahead, there was an old man sitting on a lawn chair in the middle of a lot. In front of him was a sign, “Lot for sale.”
Maybe we can afford this one. At least it would be fun to inquire. Stopping the boat, here’s how this conversation went:
Me: “Good morning. That’s a pretty nice lot you’re sitting on.”
Old Man: “Ya, it is a nice lot.”
Me: “How much are you asking for that lot?”
Old Man: “Not my lot.” (He then proceeded to tell me how much that lot was listed for.)
Me: “That’s a whole lot of money!”
Old Man: “It is a lot of money for a lot this size.”
Me: “Well, thanks a lot.”
As we boated away and after our exchange of “lots,” everyone in the boat doubled over with LOTS of laughter!
Love you all---a LOT!!
