Choosing a Hobby

Lately, I’ve been thinking to myself, “I need to get a hobby.”  But which one should I choose?
 
Let’s try fishing.  First of all, the fish never bite.  If they do, it was always yesterday, or they will bite tomorrow.  Now if I do catch one, then I have to clean it.  Don’t tell anyone, but sometimes I fish without bait. 😊  I’m fishing, but not really.  Why do I do that?  Once upon a time, an elderly lady gave me this advice.  “God doesn’t mark time when you’re fishing.”  Umm….
 
How about golf?  Way, way too much time.  Besides, have you ever heard a golfer rejoice over how he played?
 
My wife says, “Play pickleball.”  Now, I do enjoy that sport.  Like most things, she’s so much better than I am.  If only I didn’t have that blind spot in the middle of my eye.  Whiff…that often happens as I miss the ball.  (Just so ya know, I really am blind in the center of one eye.) ☹
 
Let’s do some reading.  My whole life has been devoted to reading two books, both law books.  In my first career as a C.P.A., all I read was tax law.  Now, the only book I read is the Bible, which is even a greater law of command, and a whole lot more enjoyable!
 
No hobby for me, so I guess I’ll just keep on working for the Lord.  Besides, is Jesus going to ask me about my hobby, or will He ask if I followed His command, “Go and make disciples?”  Maybe I’ll make working for the Lord my number one hobby!  I think that will work.  If you are looking for something to do, come and join me!
