Reflections from the Heart of Allan Redenius
Read this story about a man who once had a dream:
There I was in a big, dimly lit room, all alone. Within me, there arose a sense of evil power close by. It sent shivers up and down my spine. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I suddenly saw him. There on the other side of the room and now face to face, I looked into the eyes of the evil one, Satan himself. Fear paralyzed me. I could not run. Confusion and fright overtook my brain and I could remember no verses to thwart the captivating glare of him who starred me down. Cold, hopeless, and helpless did his eyes render me. Not a muscle could I move. No resistance could I muster. Powerless was I in his presence.
Then suddenly, Jesus entered into the room. Me at one end of the room looking at Satan and him at the other end opposite me, with Jesus in the middle. Jesus was facing him. Slowly, step by step Jesus retreated from Satan and backed up toward me. “No Jesus, you are the stronger One. Do not retreat from he who is lesser than You.” Those were my thoughts and then---Jesus was right in front of me with His back to me still looking at Satan.
Now taking one more step back, Jesus entered into me, my arms became His arms, my legs His legs, muscle by muscle, Jesus entered in. Jesus entered in, and again there was just me. Looking at Satan with his steely, black, cold eyes looking back at me. As Jesus’ power flowed within me, the cold vanished to warmth, the hopelessness changed to hope, and helplessness to, ‘Yes, I am able.’ With new found strength, with now clarity of mind, with Jesus now in me, now I had the power to command the evil one to leave in Jesus name. James 4:7 was the quote upon which I stand. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.”
I suspect that a lot of us have been in this very same kind of encounter in our lives. Next time it happens, put on the armor of James 4:7.
Just trying to keep you safe….put on the full armor of Christ!!
