Strange Things

Reflections from the Heart of Allan Redenius
Here is a list of strange things that people do.  At least to me they seem strange.
  • People go to the gymnasium to get exercise.  Isn't it strange that once they are there, so as to not walk too far, they want to park right by the entrance door?
  • You go out to dinner with your friends and, unknowingly, one of them has a string of cheese dangling from their chin.  No one says a word.
  • Those who preach tolerance are often among those who are most intolerant.
  • Did you know that those who climb Mount Everest and suffer from hypothermia, being delusional and believing they are hot, often take off their clothes when it's fifty degrees below zero?
  • People who suffer from dehydration are not thirsty.
  • Believe it or not, those with the least amount of money often spend the most.  Of course, they can't do that for long.
  • Hurting people, often hurt people.  I guess it comes under the heading, “Misery loves company.”
  • When boarding an airplane, isn't it strange that the people who sit in front are invited to board first?  And now boarding last, because you sit at the back of the plane, you must climb over all of those who boarded the plane earlier.  This makes no sense.

Here's the strangest thing of all.  Jesus offers a hope and a future with a mansion just over the hilltop.  Yet people choose to reject His invitation and live in a house of fire that forever burns.  If you find yourself in that house of fire, run from it.  Jesus is already running toward you.

Yes, the world seems like a strange place.  But we must remind ourselves that we are only aliens passing through this life of testing, and passing the test, heaven is our forever home.  Failing that test, we will forever live in the house of fire.

Praying that your heavenly home is next to mine,
Pastor Allan
