Memories

Reflections from the Heart of Allan Redenius
Do you ever have visions or recollections from your youth, and now in your older age, you are not really sure if what your mind sees and recalls, really did happen?  I know, already some of you are thinking to yourself, “He's not quite right.” 😊  
 
Here are a couple of examples of what I'm talking about.  Things that I think I have seen or may have happened in my youth, but now that I am older, I'm not really certain. 
 

• There's a picture in my mind of a bridge that collapsed into the shape of a “V.”  At the bottom of the “V,” with its hood crushed against the part of the bridge that ascends, was a model A Ford.  All I remember is standing there thinking to myself, “That's a strange way to build a bridge.”  My second thought was, “Could not these people know that their car would be crushed at the bottom?”
• When I was a small boy, we lived in an old two-story farmhouse.  Of course, I slept upstairs.  In the morning, instead of walking down the steps like normal people, it was my routine to float down the steps as if on Aladdin’s magic carpet.  With the help of God, I was able to defy gravity.  Why do I have such a bizarre memory as that? Maybe it's because I'm “not quite right.” 😊  In my defense, I think it really did happen.  Just so you know, for fear that I might break my neck, I haven't tried that “float down the steps thing” lately.  Enough surgeries, already!!!!

 
Those are just two memories, happenstances, that have been embedded within my mind for years and years.  Are those memories real or not?  How I wish I had asked mom and dad while they were still alive about some memories.  
 
There is one memory that never fades, but only grows stronger and brighter, that of Jesus Christ.  I don't have to ask if He is real or imagined.  I know that He is real.  Do you?
