Reflections from the Heart of Allan Redenius
I have not read President Trump's Art of the Deal.  Had I read it, maybe I could have capitalized on his wisdom in a few “deals” that I have witnessed in my CPA life.  Instead, what I've learned over the years about “deals,” I learned through the School of Hard Knocks.
 
Let me give you a little “deal” wisdom I have learned over the course of time. 

• He who blinks first, usually loses.  I knew a man who bought certain properties.  He would begin by asking the seller, “What's your sale price?”  After the seller responded, he would simply say, “That's a little high.”  The seller would then respond with, “How much do you think it's worth?”  Then the buyer, the man I knew, would sit there, not say a word and just stare at the seller.  Soon, the seller would become impatient, blink, and lower the price.  
• Whenever you're buying something, you need to be willing to walk away if you think the price is too high.  Never let on that you really love the product that you're trying to buy.
• Always maintain eye contact with those who you are negotiating with.
• If you think you're getting a good deal, never smile.  Save your smile until the deal is finalized.
• If you're being pressured to “close the deal today because tomorrow it might not be there,” take a pause.  Usually, financial decisions made in haste are bad decisions.

 
But let me tell you about the deal of a lifetime.  Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins.  With that forgiveness and, if you believe in Jesus, eternal life in heaven is yours.  There is no eye winking, staring, negotiating, just the deal Jesus offers.  It's only on the table so long as you are alive.  Don't be a fool and pass up this deal!  
 
Jesus is the best deal around!
